How does one create uez or upf files to import
Does anyone know how to create these files so you can create your own scene video backgrounds...etc. or easypalette files? Your help would be appreciated.

UEZ, or UPF files are proprietary to Cool 3D or now MS 3D. They are basically thumbnail files created by the program for the Easy Palette. So you must first import or insert your image or video. For the latter select the Background from the Attribute panel. Then select Video (or image), press the Folder icon, and in the browse window that opens, navigate to the video file you want, select it and it's inserted as the background.
Now since you have the video inserted, go to the Easy Palette panel, press the icon that appears to be a grid with a + over it, (Add to Easy Palette). This adds a thumbnail to the Easy Palette. Now if you want to use this video, all you need to do is drag and drop it from the Easy Palette. Ok, next if you want, you can Export this thumbnail as an UEZ file. This is more for backing it up. Then later on, if you needed to re-install, you can use the Easy Palette to reload that file.
I've used this, when I've created some background video using a third party program like Digital Juice. I'll save those files as AVI, then bring them into MS3D, and add them to the Easy Palette.

Hi,Ok, next if you want, you can Export this thumbnail as an UEZ file.
I am trying to do this with images.
I would like to be able to use my own image-textures on objects.
It seems I can't get to save the thumbnails as .uez for the purpose to bring them back into Easy Palette.
Rightclick>export.....and then just blank/nothing upon save.
I've tried saving to different places- sort of just in case, but no luck.
Is this at all doable?
Directions very much appreciated.

Hi NJ.
1. First apply your image to an object using the Texture attribute in the Attribute Panel.
2. In the EasyPalette, expand the "Object Style" heading and then the "Material Attributes" heading, then click on "Image Texture" so all the image texture presets are displayed. I presume this is where you want your image texture to show up.
3. Click the "Add to EasyPalette" button in the toolbar at the top of the EasyPalette panel. The button is on the right end of the toolbar. If the button is disabled, then select the object you applied the texture to. That should enable the button.
Your image is now in the EasyPalette.
