Existing Project Empty?

Post by tommo »

My wife has been working on a video project for our families for Christmas of our son. We never had a problem until the other day when she tried to open up the existing project to edit it, and it appeared that everything was gone. It goes through the motions of opening the existing project, however none of our videos, pictures, music, etc. that she put together were showing up. What could be the cause of this, and is there any way that we could get it back? Thanks.

Do you get anything in the timeline e.g. white boxes with an X in it? Was all the original video, audio, photos in the project stored on an external drive, and is that drive connected? Or have they all been moved or deleted? Does any message appear when the empty project opens e.g. re-linking needed?
