Any way to open/import an .fcp project?

Post by RCG »

Is there any way to copy a project from Final Cut Pro (fcp) and open in VideoStudio? I have someone who has done hundreds of hours of work on a video and I'd like to take over the project... but he used FCP.

I know I can have him produce a the video and then open it back up as a video, but I'm hoping to avoid the loss inherent in such a move.

I'm afraid not. Video Studio recognises only Video Studio Project files (.VSP) and will certainly not recognise an FCP project file. For its part -- though I have never used it -- FCP, being for the Apple platform, is hardly likely to be able to save for a PC platform program, and one way down the pecking order like VS, even if it is able to save projects in other formats.
