No preview

I am trying out the trial version of version 3 and after I compose the slide show and add the music and try to preview it, all I see is a black screen. I can hear the music, but can't see the pictures? Is this because it is the trial version? I installed the Direct X when the installation asked me to. Any ideas?

I was having this problem with the ArcSoft DVD slideshow program. I never did get it to work. It won't work on my Dell at home but will work on my HP at work.
