VS8 doesn't show drive in drop down list

I am having problems burning to dvd, well not the burning but losing my drive when trying to select the drive I want to burn to, it doesn't appear in the drop down list. This is a new problem and I haven't had this before, windows knows that the drive is present only VS8 doesn't.

I have tried to put on VS9 , it was a waste of money in my opinion and prefer to have my money back.

If I can't choose the drive then the software is useless, no point in doing all that editing if you can't burn anything.

Anybody have a solution, I have re-built my laptop twice installed all the patches and still I can't see the drive in the list.

This is all very tiresome now and I'm looking at other products.

Your windows operating system isn't reporting the dvd drive as a
dvd burner (maybe you can only burn cd's).

Are you sure the dvd drive in your system is able to burn DVD"S?

My laptop is a combination DVD/CD burner.

My laptop READS DVD's and only burns CD's.

What is the Make & Model of your DVD/CD reader/burner in your laptop.
