Rendering for DVD hangs at 49 %

Post by hfdr »

Movie completed with edited footage, still menus, fade to black for last clip, ending title page.

P4 5.5 Ghz
512 Ram
About 10 Gig available on HD
XP Pro

Output to DVD.... Rendering builds up to 40 %, then creeps up to 49% and hangs .....

any ideas ???

dvd rending

found same problems as written above.
If you have edited your video in another program (re: Videoredo or TMPGe) you have to open and redo in MF4. I found it doesn't like other programs authoring video and then imported. I found it corrected and burn successfully after doing such.

My issues are with the program just freezing or hanging at no apparent times. To even get the program to work at all, I started with a fresh install of WinXP and didn't put any other apps on it until I was comfortable what it was compatible with.
MF4 still needs a lot of work. It never should have been released yet.
Too bad, as it's a nice app.

Rendering Stuck.....mint120

I've heard from someone else that the hanging could be the result of one bad clip. I'm not sure how to tell which clip might be causing the problem.

I let the program run this morning, it did the usual. I let it go for a few hours. Came back to see that it had made it to 50 % then bugged out and wanted to send an error report......

Same Prob

I've had the same problem on a :
Dell 8300
P4 2.8
512 Mb RAM
two hard drives with over 40GB free space

I finally (after 6 trys) burned my 4.2 GB video to DVD-VR format, then to DVD-video. That worked. I have no idea why it won't get past 49%, but that's way to common (based on the responses I've seen) to be coincidence........

I am curious to know a little bit more about the problems you had and how you did the dvd-vr method

I am also having rendering problems, on my 5-6th try now trying to burn an ISO

Thanks

If that wasn't a typo, then your problem is likely overly aggressive overclocking...

i had this problem last night...

the funny thing, i told it to burn the files to disk as an iso first, which it did. so i just then went back and burnt the iso and it worked perefectly...

how strange.

THoff .....

..... sorry the p4 5.5 Ghz was a typo, or more correctly... a brain fart. It's actually 3 Ghz.

I'm gonna try the ISO route and then DVD ...

That's interesting. All my problems stopped once I started using VideoReDo. I used to get audio OOS and "some chapter points exceed total number of frames" I found the problem started when DMF had to encode. VideoReDo has worked well for me in versions 1 through 4.

DVD Burn hangs at 50%

Same problem, everything works up to " Burning Target Disk" Then the system hangs, resulting in a hard boot to get the system restarted. Tried a fresh install still nothing.

I was having same problem with hang (at about 31%) when rendering. Through Control Panel Add/Remove I uninstalled ULead Data-Add 2.0 and after reboot problem was immediately solved.

ULead Data-Add 2.0 allows drag/drop of files to a CD or DVD from within Windows Explorer.

Hope this helps.

MF3 hangs during rendering ........ MF4 solved my troubles

Post by hfdr »

Well I tried the ISO route ..... but the MF 3 hung up at the same spot as when I was attempting to burn to DVD-R. 49 % conversion.

The short story ..... I downloaded the trial version of MF4. I wasn't able to simply use it to render my MF3 project so I started from scratch. Imported original captures, edited clips, created menu and fade to black at the end.....
MF 4 looked like it was having some trouble now and then but it horsed through the tough spots and completed the burn to DVD-R.
The disk plays fine.

I figured out later that I could have imported some of the menu options from 3 into 4, so I may go back and tweak the project. ( the trial version of MF4 doesn't include many menu options )

I think I'll go ahead and purchase the full verison of MF4.
Does anyone have any exp. with Workshop ?? It looks like MF4 but on steroids...
