Video / Audio Multiplexing question

Post by Jjay »

I'm curious why, when I bring an mpeg video ( that I edited as a dv-avi and encoded to mpeg-2 in Adobe Premiere) into DVD Workshop, after setting up the menu and going to the finish page to burn the DVD, the converting video bar quickly slides by, and the converting audio bar also quickly slides by ( since the mpeg is conforming.) But then, the video audio multiplexing takes some time to finish.

I don't quite understand why that wouldn't also be conforming. It was encoded using dolby digital 192 bits 48kHZ. I mean it doesn't really take a long time (1hr movie) but it seems funny that DVDWS has to fiddle with it.

Any thoughts?

thanks
