I've found an issue with some of the 'slowness' of x4. I'm wondering if others can run a few tests and see if they can duplicate the issue. Not a major issue but one I would like fixed!
Open a file. Go into something like the new Fill light/Clarity. Can be Cuves, Levels, etc. Make some changes and see how fast your picture updates. Important. Do this without having the 'Preview' on. Then do the same with the 'Preview' on. Are you getting the same results? I find that with the 'Preview' ON the speed is good. With the 'Preview' OFF there is a second or two before the screen updates. This is annoying because you can't instantly see the changes. (My mind wanders in those few seconds!!!!).
I never noticed this issue before SP1.
Thanks.

Try turning off the scratch disk.
File> Preferences> General Program Preferences> Display and Caching tab. Uncheck "Enable Scratch Disk". Click OK.
Close the program, open it again.
This may work, may not.

Re: Speed issue with x4
I had Scratch Disk unchecked. But for some reason it was back on! Maybe as a result of SP1. But now I have it off again and there is still the delay with updating the image.
Only when I use Clarify and NO Preview though.
When I open Preview it works just fine.
Hmmmm.

Hmm, I do the Fill Light/Clarity with the preview off, show on image on, and it is fast but the image is all screwed up. It jumps to the upper left corner close up, then when I click apply it snaps back to fit to window. Weird.

Yes there is something going on here. Sometimes I just get a grey image for a second or two before it clicks in.
Is it a bug? Is it computer setups? Or are we just expecting too much?
It still works but just not as we expect it to.
If push comes to shove I'd rather see Corel fix the 8v16 bit issues if time and money are an issue for Corel.
