How to fit music to slide show duration

Post by skiman123321 »

How do you fit music to the slide show duration when not in the movie wizard mode? I open the studio and insert the song I want to play with the slide show. I cannot find the option to automatically fit all the slides to the duration of the song. Is there a way to do that?

Forgot to mention that I am using version 9.

Well the easy way would be to note the length of the music - then divide that by the number of slides and set the default inserted image time to that figure.

Another option would be to go to Share and Create a Video File of just your slideshow. That will make one continuous avi file of your pics. You can then start a new project and insert that newly created file. Add your music. Then use the Playback Speed control to adjust the length of your avi file to fit the music.

Brian,
I did just what you suggested.

Is there any way to "batch edit" and set the picture duration for all of the slides at once, rather than doing each one individually?

Not sure about the batch edit, but in Preferences/Edit tab, you can set the default picture duration :)

If you get DVD Pictureshow 3, it will fit the slide show duration to the music duration.

If you select the first image in the storyboard and then hold down the 'Shift' key while you select the last one they will ALL be selected.

Then go to "Clip" and choose "Change Image/Color Duration" a small box will then pop up in which you can change the individual time for each and EVERY image at one go - using that function also allows you to choose durations of 1 frame (1/30 sec if your on NTSC) thus giving a much more accurate match to the music.
