problem saving film to computer
My brother brought over his Sony digital video camcorder. It uses 8mm cassette tape. I bought EzCap.. When i install it with Arcsoft software that came with EzCap, the video shows up in Arcsoft screen properly.. It is saving as mpeg2, and saving to my "videos". When i open it from my videos, all i have is a black bitmap, couple seconds duration..The drivers say they are installed properly.. Any ideas please?

Not at all sure what your problem has to do with Corel VideoStudio - or indeed any of the Corel digital Media Products - would you be better asking this on a more general video editing forum.

I suspect, Brian, that what wjmund neglected to say was that he has some version (which?) of Video Studio for editing, but he can't open the captured videos in it. He has, after all, posted a number of times here before about both X2 and X3. But it would be useful if he could confirm this. And if it *is* the case, could he also describe exactly how he sought to insert the video into VS (e.g. Right Click > Insert Video , or some other workflow.

Re: problem saving film to computer
Thanks Brian and Ken.. Problem solved. Just had trouble getting Ezcap to work... Then it only saved as mpeg2, and VS x4 wouldn't bring that in....or either DVD movie factory..
I burned it with the poor Arcsoft software... I have lot's of Ulead products...PI x10 and up, used to have Intervideo (remember),
I use Panasonic camera's capturing in AVCHD 720, and VS does excellent with that....So all is OK..Warren

That's still very strange the X4 couldn't accept mpeg-2. Did you just right click in the X4 timeline and use the 'Insert Video' command, then navigate to where your captured mpeg-2 was filed? If so, what was the error message you got?
