Hoping someone might be able to help...

I don't know if anyone here will be able to help me, but I guess I won't know unless I ask :)

I am using VS 8 to burn mpg recorded from a TV capture card onto DVD. The TV show was obviously recorded in 4:3 and broadcast in 16:9 - it has recorded with black strips down either side of the screen. I have figured out how to get rid of those using the crop tool, but I still get black strips top and bottom of the screen (like widescreen video on a 4:3 screen).

At the risk of sounding like a newbie (oh, I guess I am ;) ), anyone know how I can fix this so it burns 4:3 aspect, full screen?

Thanx

Place your video on the overlay track instead of the main track.
Now resize it to whatever size you require. You can resize it larger than the display which then crops off any excess.

You can also use this method to zoom in to a part of your video should you ever wish to.
