How to Set a Saved Workspace to AutoLoad?

Post by DigitalDave »

I have a workspace saved as Default.PSPWorkspace. Every time I start PSPX4 I have to select File > WorkSpace > Default.PSPWorkspace so that all the settings for Palettes and Toolbars are as I need them.

Is there any way to set a saved workspace to actually serve as the default without having to select it every time PSPX4 starts?

mine does this too.

i've mentioned it but there don't seem to be enough people effected for anyone to be bothered to solve it.

workaround one would be to launch the program by double clicking Default.PSPWorkspace or a shortcut to it.

what i do is add a button to my toolbar for recent work spaces and click that every time i launch psp

You should be using the same workspace when you close PSP x4. Have you tried downloading and installinh Sp1? If not then just go to http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=3000009 to download the update.

If you go into the preferences there's a location for saving workspaces. On my computer there's two separate folders. I would try manually navigating to either folder and copying and pasting the file from one folder to the other, having it in both locations, and see if that works. You may need to rename it DEFAULT or default or DEfAult, ect...

For the sake of controlling the same named file in multiple file locations, I changed preferences so that there is only one folder for workspaces files and it is not the one PSPx4 used in one of the Language\EN\ subfolders. I also removed the other Workspace folders to prevent confusion or confounding duplication. There may be something hard-coded for a default that I might be missing or perhaps a specially named Workspace file flagged as hidden that I may have deleted in error.

Thanks for the reply - I'd forgotten I used to have multiple folders for each file location preference. I've been deleting these since PSP X (if I remember that far back) so PSP can load and run faster.
