Missing transition effects

Post by Cirrus »

I recently upgraded from X2Pro to X4 ultimate and I'm missing some transition effects that I had in X2 but are not in X4.
I'm really disappointed that transition effects and other stuff from X2 content pack are not included in x4 ultimate, and I cant find any content pack for x4 on corel website, is there any?

Can I use transition effects from X2 in X4?
I hate to have to use X2 after paying for X4 Ultimate just for transition effects :-(

If you bought the download version of X4 direct from Corel, then you should have received an email from the Corel shop giving links to extra content (which contains all the extra templates, transitions etc) and bonus material. So check back to see if you have that email.

In the email I got download link to X4 Ultimate and winzip 15.

On my account I can download both of them and some "bonus" pack, but no "content" pack

I'm not sure what was in the bonus pack, only know it was not the transitions that I want from x2

The program and content is included in the 1.4 GB file you downloaded. Then there is a small bonus file and the WinZip file. When you start up VSX4, check the Do More tab every once in a while to find out what other downloads are available, such as menus and titles.

Are the transitions you are missing NewBlueFX transitions? You may have to buy them for use in later versions.

The transition effects that I used most are "mask" and "flashback"
In X2 I have 42 "mask" effects and 14 "flashback" effects, but in X4 I only have 6 "mask" effects and 1 "flashback" effect.
Although some of the "mask" effects in X2 are very similar I still would like to get some of them imported to x4 and all the "flashback" effects

Did you register your VS X4 already? Because there are links that will be sent to you after you have registered the program.

Hello all-
I have the same problem. I recently upgraded from VS x2 to x4. I am missing many transition effects that I used heavily in my projects. 42 masks versus x4 has 6; 6 cool album flip transitions versus 1 in x4 and 14 flashback versus 1 in x4.

I downloaded and installed the content and bonus packs, and registered the product, but still they are not there. I also just uninstalled and reinstalled everything and still no luck ....

How many of those transitions do you have in x4?
I may have to "return" the upgrade if possible if I can not get these transitions back as I also used them often in my projects and it would defeat the point of the upgrade to lose all that content.

Thank you for your input,
Vicki

The album transitions have been trimmed down to what appears to be just one. However you can click on the Customize button, which provides you with several ways to customize the effect. This includes creating your own album pages by importing images to use as the album cover, and pages.

Basically the same amount of mask transitions are still possible with VSX4. Again this is done through the customize button. Instead of having all those templates laid out in the library, it has been trimmed down to selecting the one, and using the customize.

Hi Ron-
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I had contacted Corel earlier in the week and they responded with a non-answer. :? I gave your recommendation a try and it worked well, although I did enjoy having those transitions in the Library to quickly pull into the timeline. The flip album customization is pretty cool and lends itself to some interesting options.

So, I am getting used to the changes from the upgrade. I really miss the Movie Wizard as I had used it to sync sections of the timeline to the music track. I don't see anything that would accomplish the same thing for me in v4, except for manually doing it in the audio/wave view. Too bad they have not yet added a beat analyzer; that would be cool.

Thank you again... you guys have always been a huge help in the many years I have been working with VideoStudio!
