Workspace view after resize

Post by wendylady2 »

Every time I resize an image, the image in the workspace shows at a certain percent and I have to scroll to zoom in to view it at the normal size. The percent varies from image to image. Is there any setting I need to change to fix this?

I don't think that there's anything you can do. It has done that in every version of PSP I've ever used and that's going back to PSP5.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

Have you tried recording a script? You can make a real simple one that uses Image > Resize, and then Window > Fit to Window. After saving your script you can use the Edit Script button to make sure the Resize portion is interactive. Then when you run the script you'd enter your resize info and it will do it's thing and then the image will fit the window again. Does that help?

I also added a customized toolbar to my workspace that has the "Fit to Window" button on it just to have it handy.

What version of PSP are you using? In X4 if you go to File> Preferences> General Program Preferences> View tab, under the heading of "After changing size" there's two options. Both are checked by default, both cancel each other out. Uncheck "Fit Image to Window" and you should be able to do what you're wanting to do. Leave Auto Size checked.
I think I had this set up this way in X3 and it just didn't work right most of the time.

I am using Photo X4 ultimate. I tried this and first it didn't work so I also unchecked the Auto Size and now it is working fine. Thanks for pointing me into the right direction.
