Smart Collection fails to find pic with two tags

Post by mlswartz »

I've used Corel Photo Album in the past and am familar with the tag/search feature. Here's my problem. I created two tags - test1 and test2. I tagged a photo with both test1 and test2. I created a Smart Collection as follows: Find photos that match ALL, TAG contains TEST1, TAG contains TEST2. when I click PREVIEW no photos are found. If I click on the individual tags Test1 or Test2 the photo is found. Am I missing something?

I tried removing and reinstalling Paintshop Pro X4 but I am getting the same result. I have ran this test in Corel Photo Album and it works fine. Please advise.

I am running PSP X4 14.1.0.5 SP1
Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2
Intel i7 CPU950 3.07ghz, 9.0 gb ram

Thank you.

In computerese there may be a difference between test1, TEST1 and Test1 . Did you mean to have all those different spellings in your post.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

It is not a spelling-problem !
Wenn I search for "TAG1", I get a result (all pic with TAG1)
Wenn I search for "TAG2", I get a result (all pic with TAG2)
Wenn I add a rule and search for "TAG1" and "TAG2", I get no result at all.

I hope that makes it clear. This is a SW-bug !!

It has to be a SW bug! Something as simple as tagging a number of photos with "Birds", then some of them with "Ostriches" and then trying a Smart Collection with tags "Birds" but NOT "Ostriches" returns everything - including "Ostriches". Does anyone know how to report a bug to Corel? This is not a "support" issue, for which one has to pay. Do they monitor this site?

As you are probably aware, this web board is a user to user one, run by volunteer users who are not Corel employees. As far as we are aware, this forum is visited only rarely by Corel employees, though any intervention they make is usually predicated on it being a personal one.

However, we understand that the Corel execs in charge of development often read the 'Wish List' thread at the top of the forum. So you could always post something there.
