x4 acting strange!

Post by brucet »

I like the new Light Fill/Clarity feature. However I'm getting an annoying reaction each time I use it.
When I make an adjustment there will be a delay followed by a zoom to full size for a few seconds and then back to 'normal' size.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Not critical but when you are looking for the results the delay tends to distract you from being able to judge the difference/results.

I'm not calling this a bug yet but it is doing it on both my x4 machines.
It has only occured since the SP1 release.

Thanks

I originally saw what you describe back during the first few versions of the beta. It went away after I think the third or forth beta. And I do not experience this at all with my own computer even after SP1 so it may be limited in scope.

I do know that the adjustment layer is slower than the actual filter but it no longer resizes itself during re-draw for me regardless of which I use (layer or filter).

Does it matter how large the image is or does it do it all the time? My camera only takes pictures at 7.2 MP so I never have large images to test with.

My files are all at least 92meg. Some up to 400 meg. I think it's just a case of something slowing down the system enough that we can see what is otherwise hidden from view. Something has changed between x4 and SP1.

As I said, not critical, just interesting!
