Rendering settings for tv screen VSX4

Post by carole12 »

Hi there,

Silly question I know .......... but why has my rendered DVD turned out to be 'square' looking on our wide screen? I want the video to fill the screen entirely. We have a flat screen LED tv.
I set the rendering to 16.9 but must have made a big mistake.

Thankyou.

Was your original footage 16x9? If so, 16x9 was the correct setting and something's gone wrong...

If your original footage was 4x3, you have 3 choices -
1. Keep the original aspect ratio and the original full-picture and have black bars on the sides. (Usually the best option.)
2. Zoom-in to fill the full screen and crop the top & bottom off the picture. (Sometimes acceptable.)
3. Stretch/distort the image to make it fill the width. (Usually a bad choice.)
