WinDVD won't install for me

Post by shawnalex »

When I run the setup (WinDVD 11 Pro) it doesn't actually install it. First it says Installation in progress then it changes into a blank screen and at the bottom of the setu are two boxes giving me a choice whether I want to "cancel" the setup or click on "next" I can click on cancel but I can't click on next. Anyone know how to fix the black screen? Any assistances would be appreciated.

Those system specs look awfully low for WINDVD 11 PRO. What is your videocard? How much free space do have available on that 80GB harddrive?

My (intergrated) video card is intel 945G (quite old and rubbish). On my hard drive I have 34.7GB left. I also tried installing the WinDVD 10 Pro but when I installed it and tried to run it, I got an error saying I need to reinstall again or something, I can't remember...also it said something about error=1 code.
Sorry for not providing much info.

P.S Nice specs you've got there.

I am having the same problem and have much better system specs.

I have updated:
.NET Framework
Visual ++
DirectX

I have also tried:
"Run as administrator"
Deleting and reinstalling the setup file (three times)

Edit: Well I'm glad I tried the demo before buying. Live customer service couldn't solve the problem. Nor could this forum.
and I'm no dummy when it comes to this stuff. I built my own computer but can't get an expensive, 'high-quality' piece of software to even begin installation.

I have the same problem and already have the latest .NET Framework, Visual ++ and DirectX. I have also tried what aaronbru tried to no effect. Is there a fix for this problem or does WinDVD 11 just have a completely unusable intaller?

Still no resolution it seems. Time to move on and find another app. that will play bluray.
