Unspecified error --.dmp file when closing program

Post by john m »

I know others are getting this in other situations but I get it on closing the Video Studio Pro 14.1.0.107.(S.Pac 2) I initialy got it when trying Corel's trial download so went and bought the Package, retail, thinking (foolishly) that that would solve the problem. I have spent hours on line with Corel Tech who said it was a conflict with jscript.dll in Explorer 9. I reverted back to Explorer 8 but no luck. It makes no difference whether V.S has files active or not so it is not a function of source files. As youcan see on my profile - Windows 7, Home premium; 3.2 Gig Intel Core2 Duo; 3518 MB RAM; 500 Gig HD; 1024 MB NVidia GT 440 Video card. I wish now I had made another choice.

While I do understand it can be a little annoying to get the message the basic question I have is "does it cause you any real problems ?" - you say it only happens when you are closing the programme - surely at that point you have saved all the work you were doing , so you have not lost any thing - you were closing the programme any rate so there is no un-expected loss of work or access - sure you have to close the error window - but surely that doesn't render your software un-useable - just a little bit of an inconvenience each time you close.

I have had that error message on odd occasions - I have never understood why I get it sometimes and not others but as it causes me no problem or loss of work I just close it and carry on.

Incidentally - mine and other members version number with service pack 2 installed is 14.2.0.23 - yours seems to be out of step I wonder if that is part of the problem.

John,

just to be sure, I would suggest that you download and install all service pack. You can visit http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=1100002 for the updates of VideoStudio Pro X4

Thanks for the prompt reply and advice. I guess my "Perfectionist" mode prompted the question. I do have the latest updates with the latest version 14.2.0.23. No change in the .dmp error message.
