Floating Toolbars

Post by Dizzie »

My floating toolbars have the icons across in a horizontal straight line, but every time I open PSPX4 they are stacked 2 rows or more. I have to readjust them every time. It remembers where I had them placed but doesn't remember they are horizontal and opens them with the icons vertical.
This is with SP1 installed. I don't know if it did that before SP1. Don't have this problem with X3.

Hi

Go to File Preferences-General Program Preferences—Default Launch Workspace
Choose Keep Last View.

Also you can save your workspace. File Workspace-Save

I have this problem as well. my workspace changes everytime i launch the program.

best workaround i've found is to add a button to a toolbar that restores recent workspace.

so i set up my workspace. saved it. customised a toolbar to add the function recent workspace, and saved it again.

I must not have made myself clear so I made a screenshot. Every time I open the program I get the tool bars different and not the way I left them....same thing if I load the workspace again.

If problem persists, I would suggest that you reset your workspace. You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

Remember that this will remove any customization that you made.

I've had a few similar issues where I was just a bit too clever with the location of the tools. By putting them too close to each other they would act like yours do. I fixed the issue by leaving a bit more space around the bars. Somehow the Tool bars will do as yours have if they don't have the appropriate room around them.

1. Holding the Shift key does nothing. No message ever shows up.
2. There is no icon in X4.
3. If I hold the SHIFT key and double click the word Corel, it closes the program.

Are these toolbars far enough apart....it still does it.

Hmmmmm. Thinking!

I've had a play with my x4 and can't seem to replicate what's happening. Often the toolbars won't 'stick' and they can 'jump' around when being moved, but once in place mine stay as they are.

Sorry I can't help you. I may mean resetting the defaults and starting again. Often one other obscure setting may cause other consequences.

like i say my workspace changes whenever i open x4.

so i just have to get things how i like it and save the workspace, and reload it every time. to make this easier i have added a 'recent workspace button.
