what is ICA and how to uninstall it
Windows XP Pro, service pack 3; to begin with. After the 30 days trial period ended, I tried to uninstall VS X4, but this went wrong one way or another. The best bet in these circumstances is to reinstall the software in order to uninstall it again, but this appears to be impossible (because of the trial month expired?). As soon as the installer should start, all freshly unpacked files have been deleted already so the installer cannot find the first the best file it needs (init.htm, if I remember well). I've run VS_Cleanup.exe, but this does not help either. Okay, I've deleted several files by hand now (under Program Files/Corel, ProgramFiles/Common Files/Corel and/or Ulead) but this is not very satisfactory. For instance, under installed applications "ICA" is still listed. VS_Cleanup.exe obviously does not remove it. And when I try to remove it by clicking the uninstall button, I'm asked to insert the "ICA-disk", whatever that nay be. How to get rid of this (and maybe more) leftovers?

Re: what is ICA and how to uninstall it
Additional info: ICA was the only "application" that was visible in Win XP's installed applications listing. But VS_Cleanup.exe initially displayed a lot more so called MSI's, such as Contents, Share, VS_Pro et cetera. There was only one "minor" problem: it did not really clean up the registry. After finding out this omission, I finally I succeeded to delete all the relevant registry values by hand. ICA now has disappeared from installed applications and when I run Cleanup.exe the MSI-listing of that application is empty, as it should have been after running this app only once!
Important final question: why does VS_Cleanup.exe not what it is supposed to do?
Regards,
Egbert

Re: what is ICA and how to uninstall it
You may want to restore Windows XP to a previous state, where VS X4 trial is installed properly then just uninstall it via the CONTROL PANEL.
You can also force remove the program by follow the steps here http://teknisyan.net/2009/04/tech-tips- ... a-program/
NOTE: THE STEPS TO FORCE REMOVE THE PROGRAM WILL REQUIRE YOU TO MODIFY THE REGISTRY!!!!
Like what I said in the post, the best way to remove a program is to contact the Corel Support, so that they can remove the program for you. Just make sure you inform them on the steps that you already made.
