Color Balance doesn't work PSPx4

Post by mlemerson2 »

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I am trying to use Color Balance and the window doesn't work. The only part that shows is the "Enhance Color Balance" box, the words "purple" and "green" just above, and the preview arrow (which does nothing) and "preview on image". Preview on image is checked and it does show changes but I am unable to uncheck it. Nothing else shows. Nothing I have tried has worked, including restarting the computer. I hope this is enough information.

Thanks
Filly

You could always try resetting the program to its factory default under File > Preferences > Reset Preferences > Reset workspace to default configuration...

Aside from resetting workspace, you may also want to change if you have installed the SP1. You can visit http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=3000009 to download SP1

Thank you both, I had already installed SP1 but the problem occurred before I did that. I did reset the preferences though, and that fixed it.

I've found that the color balance adjustment in the Curves tool (Adjust> Brightness and Contrast> Curves) is more accurate than the Color Balance too. If you can't get the actual color balance tool to work you may try that. On the bottom right of the Curves tool, choose a black, gray, or white dropper, then click an area that corresponds to your choice.

Re: Color Balance Window problem PSPx4

Post by SJS »

I have the same issue as mlemerson2 (Dec 3): the Color Balance window displays "squashed" & incomplete. I see the Preview check box (checked), but cannot uncheck it, or, of course, resize the window. If there is still a smart white balance option here, I cannot see it in this disfunctional window.

Finally tried resetting Preferences, when I realized I could check/select only dialogue positions & settings (still a leap of faith though). This restored my Adjust color balance dialogue! THANK YOU!
