Creating simple menu

Post by Leif G »

I have used MF 7 pro for some time, mainly for burning. I use another program for encoding to DVD format
where I have more control over quality.
Now I have tried the menu editing, and it works,up to a point. I get as far as to play my projekt in preview,
but the problem is,I cant make the navigation buttons visible. I can only see the play button.

I suspect that I have missed something here. What are these buttons for? For navigating in the menu?
So how do I make it work? The information in the manual is not much help. As usual they tell us a lot about
what we can do,but not much about how to do it. For a newbie everything has to be explained in detail.

Another problem, wich might be connected somehow,is that I can not figure out how to play one selected clip only.
If I click on the first clip thumbnail,it starts playing it, but it goes on to play the next too after that.
I want it to play only the selected clip to the end,and then go back to the main where I can select another to play.
Do I have to create some chapters for this to work? I don't need chapters,my clips are only 10-15 min eatch.

I use Win7 pro, VSpro X3, MF7 pro(reinstalled and updated with service packs etc).

Finally,a big Thanks to all you who have patience to answer our questions. We are not always nice,
irritated as we are over the problems we encounter.
It's a never ending struggle,but it's a challenge we can't keep away from.

Hi Leif G

First I only have DVD MF7SE, the pro having more features.

As you do not appear to have created chapters, I can only assume you have added separate video files.(titles)
For each file added a link/thumbnail will be created in the main menu.

When we play the dvd the main menu opens allowing us to choose one of the titles.

What happens next depends on what you selected in the navigation controls.
Click the Project settings Cogwheel lower left, the window shows the navigation controls in the lower panel.
Default is Auto Repeat will play all for ever and ever.
Continue to play next clip, will play selected clip to end of disc.
Back to Menu will play selected clip only, then return to menu.

Preview
Should show the menu on the preview screen, your video titles being named.
Use the mouse to select and play the titles, click the preview screen.

Hope this Helps
