Please ....How do I re-install VSX4

I need to re-install Video Studio X4. From the C:/Coral - VSX4 folder I have tried 'setup' but I am told I do not have administrative rights nor privileges. I do of course! It is my own private pc.

I have tried Vstudio.exe but that does nothing.

Surely I don't have to download all over again from the link in the Confirmation Letter do I? (I only downloaded last week for the first time, but ......long story, something went terribly wrong and I need to re-install).

My VS10+ for example has been installed over and over again during the course of many years since I first downloaded it online from Ulead (as it was back then). Why can't I seem to re-install my VSX4.

When you originally downloaded X4, the installation file should have been saved in your Download folder. It should still be there unless you have manually deleted it from that folder. Your 'Computer' list in Windows 7 should have the Download folder right up towards the top, above Libraries (at least, that's where it is on mine). Or you should do a search in Computer for "X4", and select the one which is listed in a 'Downloads' folder.

Otherwise, yes, you will need to download it again if the link is still active. And next time, make a copy of it either on an external hard drive or on a DVD. That way you will always know where it is in case you need to reinstall again.

Hi Carole

The files you downloaded from the Corel site are the files you need to install video studio.

There will have been three files,
The Main Program---VSX4_Pro.exe or similar name
A bonus file VSX4_Pro_Bonus.exe
And a contents file. VSX4_Content.exe

You should save all these downloaded files to a safe location, and maybe burn them to a disc as a backup.
Also save details of any activation codes.

The first one, the main program file is used to install Video Studio.
You have already installed this, so what problems are you having and why do you need to re-install the program.

These are details provided by Corel to uninstall the program

To install the program double click the Main Program---VSX4_Pro.exe file.

But again why do you feel you need to re-install the program?

I have, in this same short time managed to find the TBYB VSX4 and have re-installed it ! Yes, this was in my download file. I have purchased the product so hopefully I can re-use this as a main installation if I need to in future? Not too happy seeing the 'TBYB' though. I do have the code from Coral though.

I have done a complete backup.

I needed to re-install because something went terribly wrong and the entire program crashed on me. I have no idea why. I tried a few things before I decided to simply uninstall and re-install. I kept getting the error telling me " unable to load from .....BB' (or something similar - so sorry I cannot remember the missing word), and this happened directly after I had captured. This message however was constant, and in the end I couldn't even start up my VSX4 at all as each time I tried, I kept getting this message. It seemed almost to be stuck on my pc desktop!!!! I took a look at the problem on this forum and apparently there were no concrete answers, so I simply uninstalled the entire program.

Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

It doesn't work to reinstall for the simple reason that it is not an installation file. It is the main *already installed* executable file which actually starts your X4 up if it were working correctly.

Glad you have managed to reinstall the program.
If it helps my version of X4 was the trial “VSX4_Pro_TBYB.exe”

The “unable to load from .....BB' error has been about for ever with little understanding of why………

I did some tests and associated it with Nesting Projects, adding the nested projects to the library, then subsequently editing or deleting the nested file.

I can replicate the “unable to load from .....BB”
I have to complete the tests by explaining just what I found.

If you are aware that you are using the Nesting option then there should be no problems.

The problem occurs for some users being confused between a VSP file and a Video File.

If the “unable to load from .....BB' occurs again the best option would be to re-set the library from Settings - Library Manager, this will return the library back to its original state, you will lose all user library content.
