Why don't you just leave "Preview on Image" checked all the time?pinobot wrote:It's when you see the two boxes and you press "Preview on Image" multiple times to see the difference.

Re: PSPx4 Bugs and fixes.
I also was wondering about the ticking and unticking of the preview box to see before and after images. Perhaps the poster has poor vision and finds it difficult to see the effect on the small preview image.
May I suggest using an adjustment layer for that function and you can tick and untick the visibility to see a large before and after. Double clicking the adjustment layer brings that adjustment back up again so that you can continue tweaking the adjustment. That way you can leave the preview on image always checked and yet see the before and after on the larger image.

It depends on the size of the picture.LindaSue wrote:Why don't you just leave "Preview on Image" checked all the time?pinobot wrote:It's when you see the two boxes and you press "Preview on Image" multiple times to see the difference.
On small pictures i can leave it on but on large pictures i want to sample a small portion of it in the preview instead of waiting for the result every time i change the values.
I have to admit that with faster computers it becomes less of a problem.

Re: PSPx4 Bugs and fixes.
Ok it's seems a bit more complicated than that.
When you first do Brightness/Contrast and then Local Tone Mapping strength '1' it hangs.
The Contrast value has to be negative and you have to select the Tone Mapping Strength by holding the left mouse button and swiping over the value from right to left, when you now press '1' it hangs.
It seems to happen with certain images like this one when i copy it and paste it in PSPX4:

Re: PSPx4 Bugs and fixes.
Nope. Still works OK here.
The thing to realize is that unless the bug causes a massive release of highly toxic gases over a wide geographical area, it will never be fixed for non-current versions of the program....

Re: PSPx4 Bugs and fixes.
Have just tested using your settings with X4 on an XP machine and a Windows 7 machine with no problems. I note that the poster has Windows 8. So might need to be others with Windows 8 test it and see if it is a common problem with windows 8 or unique to your system and whatever you have running there.
