What is wrong with the CIRCLE transition?

Firstly note I am using Videostudio Pro X4.

I have noticed many times that when I add the CIRCLE transition between two video clips that when I drag the 'scrubber' along through the two clips and transition, when the scrubber goes past/through the circle transition the preview window goes blank (displays black).
If I change the CIRCLE to any other transition it displays (the transition) correctly but as soon as I put the CIRCLE back it once again only shows BLACK.
If I PLAY the project the CIRCLE transition displays correctly - it is only when dragging the scrubber that the problem exists.

Is there a known problem with the CIRCLE transition?

That happens with me for a number of transitions. I just ignore it -- as I ignore a number of other anomalies in the preview window -- since the final output is (usually) fine!

Haven't noticed any other transitions (with this problem) and I use around 10-12 different ones.

It's a nuisance thought as it's easier and quicker to drag the 'scrubber' to check the effect than to play the (part of the ) project.

IT seems to me that the problem is caused by what is in the project as I just creacted a simple project of 2 video clips and the circle transition and the scrubber works fine on it. I also loaded a 'basic project' of hundreds of video clips (I always save the project created when I capture a video tape and then call it something else once I start to edit) and added one circle transition and it also works ok using the scrubber.

I wonder why a patch has not been released. Maybe it's too hard to determine what is causing the problem.

I also wonder if there will ever be a version which doesn't have 'issues'. I still love it (X4)

I think this may be related to what else your pc is doing. If there is something being downloaded in the background, or one of your programs is checking to see if there is an update, or your virus program is doing something, or...

All NEGATIVE to your questions just remember that if I load a 'simple' project (ie hundreds of clips with absolutely NO added editing) and then add a circle transition the 'scrubber' displays correctly. I then load the edited (complex) project and it plays up. I then reload the 'simple' project and it works correctly again.
Once again I say that the problem appears to be related to existing editing and/or how complex the existing editing is. NOTHING to do what is running in the background!
