FINSHED DVD PROJECT NOT PLAYING ON DVD PLAYER OR PC!!!!
[b]HI EVERYONE, have only just discovered this forum and look forward to offering any advice i have found along the years but for now I have a question for you. I have tried to burn a particular project of great importance to me to DVD six times int eh last two days. It takes about 1 hour to burn (has been prerendered etc) and comes up with the dialogue box operation completed successfully. However it does not play on my pc or DVD player....does anyone know why not??? I am getting very frustrated. IF someone knows what to do or can offer any advice Id be very welcome to it. Thanks heaps.Christy.

Hi tlcm,
There's a sticky at the top of this forum which describes the steps that should be taken to create a DVD disc. I know some people have had issues when trying to skip some of the steps so it's well worth a read.
In summary the steps are --
1) Create your project
2) Goto to "Share" tab and create a rendered file
3) Create a disc using the rendered video.
In the last step, you will go through the Wizard where you can add backgrounds music etc.. and there is the chance to preview the finished product there too --- does this work OK on your machine ?
Other thoughts --> You've not said what spec. PC your using, which version of Video Studio your using etc.... ?
If you provide as much detail as possible you'll get more help.
The "Completed Successfully" does sound like it's working but what type of disc are you burning too --- it's worth using good media and one that you will know plays on standalone players too.
I tend to use Verbatim -R (UK based) but it's preference really.
Hope this has been of some help.

Open the DVD with Windows Explorer and confirm that the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders have been created. I suspect that either the DVD may be blank, or the data is being burned in the wrong format... somehow. (It is normal for the AUDIO_TS folder to be empty.)
There is an option to "burn" the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders onto your hard drive. That should save you some time, and prevent "coasters" as you're trying to solve the problem.... I forget exactly how to do that, and I don't have VS on this computer.

The last screen in the "Create Disk" step has checkboxes to output to a physical disk, an ISO file, or a VIDEO_TS folder.DVDDoug wrote:There is an option to "burn" the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders onto your hard drive.
