Video For Web

Post by BradleyHaas »

I am working with a client that used CorelVideoStudio X4 and we need to export/save her files for her website. We know we want to use FLV files but so far we're not getting them compressed enough. Could someone educate me on the "best practices" for FLV file creation & compression within X4? Are we able to select different codecs to try? Thanks.

Hi

Knowing the properties of your video files would help us to advise on Flash settings.

The default settings from Share Create Video File-FLV may not be suitable as it used 4:3

Use Share Create Video File-Custom – Flash Files-Options
Leave the Compression tab as default
Editing the General tab will allow you to select the frame rates and sizes, you may have to use User Defined to set the frame size.

Depending on your video file, you may create a black band/border top and bottom of the flash file, if yes deselect the option Non Square Pixel Rendering.(CVS tab)

You may be best using Settings – Make Movie Templates Manager to create a template.
This will be available adjacent to the Custom option. Then you could compare a few different settings
