Hi,
I have a picture, and I'm putting a circle around it on that picture I want to write Merry Christmas.
I thought it would be cute to have the letters alternate between red and green, so the "M" would be red , then the "e" would be green and so on.
I also thought this would be easy, but it's not,
First I tried 2 layers the following way. Layer 1 had M r y h i t a and layer 2 had e r C r s m s with layer 1 being red and layer 2 being green, that didn't work.
Now I have a a top layer of "M" in red and the second layer "Me" in green, and it works as long as long as I use a fixed font this seems to work, but I'm wondering if there is an easier way.
Thanks,
Bill

Why not just set your background and foreground colors to red and green and then type M (click the arrow to switch background and foreground) type E (click arrow again) type R, etc.? There may be other ways/suggestions, but that's how I would do it.

Yes, unlike normal vectors, where you can only have one color for fill and stroke per object, vector text allows you to have a different color for stroke and fill per letter. You can also have each letter have its own type face or font inside the same text object. No need to have multiple layers.
So you have two options, you can set it per character as you type, as Kathy_9 suggested. Or, you can, after you have typed it out, select each letter and then select a new color on the materials palette.

Using PSP only, you may need to change the color manually. You can just type your work then convert it to raster then using the flood fill, change each letter to the color that you want. But the font will not be as smooth as you may want it to be.
Though I think using a plugin will be much easier, though I don't have any info on what plugin you can use.
