This is new. fresh today.

Notes:

Service Pack 1 is now available for Corel PaintShop Pro X4. This update includes new color workspace options, improvements to the HDR workflow, enhanced RAW support, and a range of fixes and changes that address feedback from our users.

Important notes

Workspace warning: The enhancements to the workspace are significant. If you created a custom workspace in PaintShop Pro X4, it will not be compatible after you apply this service pack.
Icons: Many users expressed an interest in color icons and the option to change the size of the icons. Here’s how you can activate the new icon options: In the Edit workspace, right-click a toolbar, and choose Customize. Click the Options tab and choose the icon settings that you want
Workspace color: You can now choose a workspace color. Here’s how: In the Edit workspace, click View > Workspace Color, and choose the option that you want.

It's 224MB, which is huge for a service pack

i've had a quick play. a few things i noticed.

the installer leaves a copy of itself in C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X4 SP1

some bugs:
the png partial transparency one http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=43444
my drop shadow bug is unfixed http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=43316
the 72dpi thing seems to be fixed

there appears to new bug that when you are saving or loading a workspace the list of workspaces doesn't show ones with a '.' in them. and my workspace keeps moving itself. still.

I've not downloaded yet as the machine with PSP X4 installed is busy doing other things, but looking at the install instructions I see brain fart number1 "To install this update, the original CD may be required..."

What original CD, I got it as a download? ;-)

They seem to say the same thing withupdates for all their products, be it Video Studio, PSP or any of the other biggies.

I purchased the boxed version of PSP X4 Ultimate and just installed the update and it never asked me for the CD.

They still have the auto preserve as a hidden file :(

At least the light Gray is usable, so that's good, the colored tool icons are a welcome return, that's good.
The fact that the Workspace has to be completely re-constructed is beyond a joke... Maybe a few seconds work for the happy snapper with just a couple of minor tweaks, but with my complex workspace, absolutely a lot of work for (Three words the middle of which is very rude).
The final up my nose is getting... I don't want anything in "All Users" so I've now got to re-do all those Preferences to point at the correct place, My profile name.
I've spent a good hour so far on this re-config, and I'm not finished yet. Obviously wasting my time on all this, I've not actually had the time to do anything graphics with this new version.

So in conclusion, regarding the UI some good, but some bad.

I am quite pissed off because PSP X4 is still unuseable for me. TIFF file saving still saves TIFF files with two pages. I will wait for another service pack.
