VS X4: How to import BluRay-Disc

Post by Luegisdorf »

Hi there

I'm using the currently the VS X4 trial version for evaluation purpose. So first I want to modify a BluRay-Disc in 3 Steps:
- import material from disc
- cut some scenes
- re-create disc (or finally burn it)

Unfortunateley I'm unable to finish task one: I didn't found out, how to import the BluRay-Disc: I tried with 'import Digital-Media' but whatever I choose in selection dialog (drive where the disc is located, a dubdirectory from the disc, etc.), VS always respond 'No valid content found'.

How can I accomplish to import the movie materials from the BluRayDisc?

Thank you for your replies.
Regards
Patrick

First, VS will not import from a copyright disc.

But if your Blu-Ray disc is not copyright protected, then the video itself should be in the STREAM sub-folder of the BDMV folder. So when using Import Digital Media, you should navigate to that sub-folder.

Just want to add to what Ken said... the same is true to copy protected DVD's.
