I've skipped from X2 to X4, and there several things that are either missing or don't work properly. Could anyone confirm the following?:
- The old Delete Layer button is gone from the Layers Palette. In X2, deleting a layer was simple; now it seems needlessly complicated and dependent on the layer type.
- The "no fill" option seems to be gone from the Materials palette. How do you make text outline only?
- The Zoom Tool's selection area is inaccurate. You specify an area to zoom to, and you usually end up part way above or below your target.
Here a few bugs I have reported:
- The "images open at 72 ppi regardless of the resolution at which they were saved" bug. I agree with those who feel that this is a serious problem.
- Image resolution saved in scripts is not applied in Batch Process. (This might be related to the previous.) I have saved scripts that create images at 96 ppi. If I run the script from the Script toolbar, I get 96 ppi; if it run it from Batch Process, I get 72 ppi.
- Text selections contain about a half-character's worth of space at the right end of the selection rectangle. This is a problem if you're using Guides and the Snap To option for aligning text.
Anybody run into any or all of this?

I'm posting from my phone so you'll excuse my brevity.
You can delete layers by clicking on the little bin. i don't remember if this has changed. But it's not difficult.
No fill can be done by setting the background colour to transparent

Re: what has happened to...?
I think x4 has some real bugs. But I also think some 'bugs' are also just a case of setup or user being unaware of the 'how to's'.
I delete a layer by simply right clicking on the layer and then clicking on 'delete'.
I have no 72dpi issues. In preferences I simply selected 300 dpi and everything stays 300dpi unless I make the change. Check your settings in 'Preferences'.
I don't use text tools so I can't help you with those issues.
Corel has some problems!!! But I think we all have a tendancy to complan if there are no changes and still complain when they make changes that don't suit us! I just wish Corel would communicate a bit better as to what the changes have been so that we could seperate changes from bugs.

Re: what has happened to...?
Thank you, flagpole. You're correct on both counts. Both are pretty much the same as in X2, just in a different place. I'm so used to looking at the top of the Layers palette that I keep overlooking all the buttons at the bottom.
