PSP 12 Ultimate-Unable to associate any files

I am unable to associate any files with PSP 12 Ultimate or 9. I go in under prefrences/file locations then choose the type file (plugin, mask...) then choose the particular file to load but nothing happens. This frustration has taken all the joy from a new computer! I am hoping someone will be able to help me.

I think you are referring to the FILE > PREFERENCES > FILE FORMAT ASSOCIATIONS?

Anyway, did you install PSP X2 Ultimate on a Windows 7? Because PSP X2 Ultimate and lower versions are not fully compatible with Windows 7.
