WinDVD 11 or Pro 11 for non-3D bluray ?

Post by TGN »

Hello,

I can't find this information anywhere...

Can I use the basic WinDVD 11 for bluray playback (NOT 3D bluray), or must I buy the expensive WinDVD PRO 11 ? I'm on the verge of buying the software, but I really don't know wich one to buy. I simply need casual bluray support, not 3D.

Thank you !

Thank you for your answer, but the trial version is the PRO version... There is no trial version of WinDVD NON-PRO. I would like to know if the basic version of WinDVD 11 (again, NOT the Pro version) can read blurays ?

As far as I am aware, the vanilla version of WinDVD 11 is limited to DVDs and will not play Blu-Rays...

Unlike the WinDVD 2010, the WinDVD 11 can play BD even if you are using the trial version. That includes 3D BD. If you have not downloaded the trial you can download the WinDVD 11 trial here.

Hi TGN

What do you call expensive……

I am in the UK and Corel prices are approximately double that of prices in the US.
Don’t know why that should be, seems a little unfair really.

However if you purchase the download versions I see no reason why you cannot purchase from the US.

You could of course be living in the US in which case they are running a Black Friday Sale????????

Hello,

Here is a clarification regarding the respective capabilities of WinDVD 11 Vs. WinDVD Pro 11:
WinDVD 11 only plays DVD discs plus other file formats such as AVCHD and it includes the basic playback enhancements that go with it
WinDVD Pro 11 plays DVD's plus Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D discs and all the file formats that WinDVD supports.
The trial version we have produced is for WinDVD Pro 11. There currently is no trial version of WinDVD 11.

Hope this helps!
