Making Recorded MPEG fit on DVD ?
I recorded a movie and imported it into the movie factory. I then spent about an hour setting up menus, etc. and then clicked to burn the dvd only to be told that there was too much data for the dvd. In looking at the size bar it does appear that i'm over the 4.7gb size by .2gb.
How can I tell movie factory to make the movie fit?
I had been using the sony click to dvd product that came with my laptop which has that capability.
Thanks

menu templates?
I'm not sure where to look for this? But I do know the tbyb package wasn't that large - it was a 102mb file.

one more help
I tried to delete a scene - about 4 seconds at the start of my capture and thought I had but it is still there when I preview it (thus I haven't burned the dvd yet). How does one remove a section of a capture?

If it was only 100Mb then you haven't got the extra content. Ask Ulead about it. And don't let them tell you it does not exist. Maybe ask Tobie Openshaw, the Ulead fellow who has appeared in this forum recently. He seems to have an interest in customer relations.
Re. Scene cuts. I think that you will find that the DVD is burnt correctly. I seem to remember having that problem myself. You can verify this before burning to disk by burning only to DVD folders (not to disk) and then playing the resultant files. If the cut has disappeared then you can burn from those files.

thanks
Thanks - I'll try that (burning to disk) after work today. As for asking ulead about the extra content - I'll do that after I buy and receive the full product as it would seem the TBYB (try before you buy) package doesn't have it all - it is just a taste.
It does seem strange that the deleted scenes would still be there even when one previews the dvd before burning.

Re: thanks
Where are you previewing the DVD? I find that the cut scenes are not played when I add/remove chapters, or use the internal player to preview the DVD just prior to going to the Output screen.lbdyck wrote:....

The cut scenes are still accessable when you are in the edit screens where you can trim or multi-trim the scene. That way you can add back the info you cut, if you change your mind. DMF just remembers what you've edited and saves it in the project. The original MPEG on the disk is not changed.
Additional note.. You can inport the clip as many times and into as many projects as you like. Each one gets a complete view of the scene.

Re: Making Recorded MPEG fit on DVD ?
I am having a similar problem using DVD Movie Factory 2. It looks like I am way under the size bar, I go to burn the DVD and after authorizing (before actually burning the DVD) it says there isn't enough room on the disc. I even set it up at the beginning of the project to fit more video.lbdyck wrote:I recorded a movie and imported it into the movie factory.
