Defragmentation

Post by tonyl33 »

A lot of people are having problems doing capturing with DV(AVI) format even though they have lots of disk space & loads of RAM. They have to understand that video format needs a very large unfragmented disk space. Sometimes they can capture smoothly until the last 10 mins when the System declares a lack of disk space & everything is aborted.
Windows Defragmenting tool is never doing a good job - it never defragment fully. Got to use optional software to do it.
I am using Diskeeper 8.0. My 'D' drive have a lot of space but my 'C' drive only manages 15Gb max & I don't want to change the 'Swap' files to 'D'. Diskeeper can do defrag at boot-up & it do a very tidy job of compacting all my files & folders & it did the job in no time at all but must be done daily. I used to have 'Speed disk' from Norton Systemworks but it's too slow going.
