Greetings
I recently transferred collection of Super8 movies from a VHS tape and burned to a DVD. Upon playback on the computer, as well as preview prior to burning, the audio on the clips worked fine. However when the disc was played on the DVD player ( tried my blu-ray player as well), there was only audio in sections where I had added an audio track.
Did I miss something ?
Thanks, Rick

Video Studio is having trouble converting your file to the DVD format... This happens with some formats & format variations.
What format was your captured audio? What format is the captured video? (With the clip loaded on the timeline, right-click and note the properties.)
Does your capture device & software allow you to choose a different format?
You may need to convert the audio/video file to a different format (before editing) or you may need to extract the audio to a separate audio file and paste the new audio file in to your project. And, if Video Studio has trouble with these tasks, you may need to use a 3rd-party program such as SUPER* (FREE!!!). The least-compressed formats are generally the easiest to edit/convert (i.e. DV/AVI or WAV for audio). Or, I usually convert to DVD-compatible MPEG-2 with LPCM or Dolby AC3 audio. (You can get the DVD-compatible settings from your Video Studio Project Settings.)
* If you download SUPER, follow the confusing links and make sure you are downloading SUPERsetup.exe... Don't get fooled by the ads for other software on their website.

Re: No audio on DVD/TV playback
One possibility is that mpeg layer 2 audio is not part of the international NTSC DVD standard, and not all NTSC DVD players can play it. So I would try instead burning your DVD using Dolby two channel stereo, which creates a file about the same size as mpeg layer 2 audio but is part of the NTSC standard.
