Adding pictures to instant templates

I am using an instant template at the end of my video. I am trying to add photos to the placeholders. I tried control click and drop to the placeholder but that isn't working.What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Select one of the place holders in the overlay track - that's the bits with the large numbers in - then RIGHT click over the selected holder, from the pop-out choose "Replace clip >> Photo" - then browse for the new image you want to use - click 'open' and there you are

Import the images to the library.

Drag image from library over placeholder, press the CTRL key, drop the image
