Hi all
I recently downloaded and installed the latest PaintShop Pro X4 trial (not Ultimate).
I assume that it installed ok (using an Administrator account), but when I run the program it does not get past the registration dialog - after entering my email address and clicking Register, the dialog just stays there, completely blank, with no further status or progress information.
I've terminated and restarted 7-8 times now, every time it sends yet another "Thank you..." email, with a link to reset my password, which I then also do. This doesn't make any difference to the running program.
I have also left it running for more than four hours, with no further progress or any other indication of status or activity. What could it be doing - scanning the whole network for images, perhaps? (I have a total of 11 images in My Pictures folder...)
I have a trial key, but I've not yet been presented any facility to enter it anywhere.
My new PC is less than a month old, and the only other software I have presently installed is:
- Firefox 7.0.1
- Office Pro Plus 2010
- Microsoft Security Essentials
- Adobe Reader X
If anyone can suggest another approach or a workaround to this failing registration behaviour, I would be very grateful.
Thanks
Roland

Re: X4 trial registration problem
The download could be corrupt. You might want to re-download.
Also, have you checked on the Corel website to see if your registration details are listed?
You need to use Sign In (top right), then enter the email address you used.

Re: X4 trial registration problem
Turn off UAC and try again. Start> Control Panel> All Control Panel Items(small or large icon view as opposed to Category view)> Getting Started> Change User Account Control (blue and yellow shield).
Turn off Real Time Protection in Microsoft Security Essentials and try again.
Turn off Windows Firewall and try again.
Once you get PSP to work on your system you should be able to turn all this stuff back on.
