Cross Fading Problems on Pro X4

Post by mkochsch »

I'm trying the 30 day demo of X4. Two problems have come up today.

Problem one. "Automatically Add Transition Effect" under "Preferences|Edit" once turned on does not seem to turn off. Every time I add a clip to my video track whatever transition I have selected in the drop down menu is added regardless of the checkbox being checked or unchecked. Here's the really weird part. I close the program and restart. The problem is still there. I shutdown Windows 7 and restart the problem is fixed! Registry issue?? Cache issue?

Problem two. I'm editing a video where I want to fade in from black so I lay down a black graphic panel in the first ten seconds. I lay my video next to this and add my cross fade in FX transition to go from the black graphic panel to the video. Now I want my titling to do a fade in and fade out at the beginning of the video also, overlapping the fade in created on the videotrack. I create my title. Put a fade in FX in front and a fade out FX on the end of the title. The fade out FX however is now affecting a fade out also on my video track! What the heck?! Do I still have to make two copies of the title butted end to end?
The first I'm pretty sure is a bug (VideoStudio or Windows 7 x64)

Hi

First can you update your profile to include your computers specification, they will show to the right of your posts.
Select the User Control Panel (link top left of this post)
Choose the profile tab
If you do not know your system specifications, or how to look them up, there is a free utility called Belarc Advisor, you can download and run. It will tell you everything you need to know (but were afraid to ask) about your PC.

“Automatically Add Transition Effect" strange…………….
Direct X
The manual installation of Direct X has been known to cure some strange issues with Video Studio.
Even though your pc may seem up to date the “manual” approach does work for some users.

Direct X as far as I know this is the latest version..

1/ Download file
2 / Run to extract files to a new folder
3 / Run DXSETUP.exe to install.

-------------------------------------------------

Animating Titles
Create your Title
Select text on preview screen
Choose the Attributes tab (below library)
Select Apply Animation
Choose Fade option adjacent to apply
Press the two TT’s for a manual approach (or use default templates)
Set Cross Fade

Adjust the bar below the preview screen for Pause Durations.
