I don't think I got what I paid for

Post by Char97960 »

I just ordered the download version of PaintShop Pro X4 Ultimate upgrade, which I qualify for. But it seems I only got PaintShop Pro X4--not the Ultimate edition!

The "Ultimate" part of PSPx4 is the extras bundle. So if you got the Nix Filters, the link for Fotolia, and whatever else they were offering then you got the Ultimate package.

To be clear it's not an "Ultimate" edition or version it's an "Ultimate" package. So regular PSPX4 with a bunch of extras.

And to think their marketing team things this is clear to everyone. Might have to start sending links to all of these topics to show it's not.

My X3 Ultimate at least has Ultimate on the splash screen when starting the program. You would think they would have done the same with X4.

Yeah, they could have done at least that to let you know that you have the right download! Seems quite unprofessional to me! I could have saved $10.00 and done without all that extra junk!

I'm sorry if you were confused with the image on the disc for PSP Ultimate. When we shipped the X3 Ultimate version with a different image from Pro, we had some complaints to the effect that the image was different, but that it was the same software. So at launch of X4, we wanted to remove any uncertainty because the application software was again exactly the same between Pro and Ultimate. It's only the second disc with added value items that's unique to the "Ultimate" version. We did not want to leave buyers of the Ultimate version with any impression that their base application is different when it actually is the same. At the same time, we still did want to visually distinguish the two products on the box because the value-adds do represent a significant difference.

Hope this at least helps to explain what I'd call our Catch 22 situation and "ultimate" decision.

I just got the Ultimate Version today through a Black Friday Special from Amazon for $24.99 U.S. Just so you know it allows you to download the full version of Winzip version 15 and the key was in the box.
