Hello, I am a total newbie to video editing so I need your help. I downloaded the trial version of pro 4x and love the video clarity and smoothness....even running at 60FPS. However, when I try to start editing with the "Instant Project", I start to have issue.
1. The intro is fine.....very smooth
2. However, when it gets to the video portion, the quality and "shuddering" of the vidoe is horrible......what am I doing wrong??????
HELP !!!!! and Thank You.

Re: Video Quality When Inserting "Instant Project"
Your query relates specifically to Video Studio, so I am moving your post to that forum.
And to answer it, if you are using video which is high definition full progressive at 60 fps, then I am afraid Video Studio cannot handle it. I raised it with Corel during the beta testing process, but at that time they told me not enough people used such video. That has changed, but they have still not indicated when they might produce a patch or update.
In the meantime, the only thing you can do is produce a new video using Share > Create Video File > Custom, then choosing .avi as the format. Then you select one of the available codecs and customise the settings to allow for 50/60 fps at 1920 x 1080. But that will not of course allow you to produce a Blu-Ray disc or even an AVCHD hybrid disc using that format. At most, VS will at present only allow 1280 x 720p at 60 (or 50) fps.

Hi
and welcome to the forums.
Can you confirm that you are using Corel Video Studio X4, if so I will move your post to that forum.
When you say “Video Portion” do you mean your video and not the Instant Project clips.
If your video file is HD then you may need to use a process called Smart Proxy
This is as I remember Enabled by default.
When you add a video clip to the timeline proxy files are automatically created, these do take some time to create, be patient.
Once created the timeline playback should improve.
View Settings Smart Proxy Manager and Queue Manager.
