PI8 - PhotoImpact Album 8

Post by Chris Gaines »

Hi all,

I got PhotoImpact Album 8 as part of a software bundle when I purchased PI8 a whille back.

I couldn't get it working then and it still doesn't work now. I must admit I never logged a support call with Ulead - but before I do I wonder whether anyone else had similar problems getting it going.

Being bundled it's hardly going to be a 'killer app' but hate having something that came with a purchase and not working. Time it was fixed so I can check it out

The error I get as soon as I click the shortcut is:
'u32Cfg - Unable to read version information from the c:\program files\ulead systems\ulead photoimpact 8\album.exe. Insufficient memory or system resources low - OK'

Needless to say this is the only application running and there is plenty of resources available should the application bother to look :)

Thanks for any pointers as to what's causing this.

u32Cfg.dll is a “DLL” Direct Link Library that reads configuration or startup parameters. Something in your Registry, one of the files or your setup is damaged or corrupted. In which case it is the Uninstall, Delete the Ulead System Folders along with all contents, empty the Recycle Bin, reboot the computer, then reinstall the complete software package, and hope everything works fine.

Don’t forget to turn off your Anti-virus, Firewall, Screen Saver, and any other programs running in the background before reinstallation.

The two Ulead System Folders are located at, if running XP, C:\Documents and Setting\your name\Application Data\Ulead Systems, and C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems.

Thanks keenart - I figured that may be the case. Was hoping not have to re-install the whole PI8 product though but unfortunately there is no uninstall for Photo Album 8.
