Use onOne PHOTOFRAME on PSP X3

Post by BeAsT »

I like onOne PhotoFrame plugin but I can't use it with PSP X3. I move files to plugins folder but this plugin isn't detected.
Any people use OnOne plugins on PSP? The lastes onOne versions it's not compatible...
Thanks!

On their website it says it's a plugin for Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture, (all Adobe products).
The newer made-for-Adobe plugins don't work in PSP, only in the programs mentioned.

(Looking at what the program does, you can save yourself a lot of money and use the PSP Photo Effect tools to achieve very similar effect :))

I'd say that yes you can achieve the same type of things with PSP's Photo Effects tools, but the appeal of the OnOne stuff is that the look gets updated more than once every 6 or 7 years.

It would really be cool if Corel supported newer PS plug-ins. There may be a copyright type situation that inhibits that though, I don't know. But it would also be very cool if other plug-in manufacturers quit being pin heads and created plug-ins that worked with things other than Adobe products. Adobe is not the only game in town.

I've downloaded a few of the free templates from OnOne. http://www.ononesoftware.com/free/templates/ They're PSD files, which means you can open them in PSP (I have X3) but not everything is supported. For example, you get layers and OnOnes usually has a number of them in their templates. But the text is not supported so you can not change it. You could always delete the text that's there (unless you like it to say "insert text here") and then add your own though. The PSD mask layers are also not supported but you could always add your own manually. It does take some work, but it's doable.

I use Photoframe software few years ago (old version that it's PSP/PP compatible). I like his realistic frames as the following samples (polaroid, film, wood, ...)

http://cdn.jeffwendorff.com/wp-content/ ... _frame.jpg
(samples from Google Images)

I a newbie on PSP (I a PhotoPaint user). I'll try if I can open frames directly (without Photoframe app) opening internal files.
It's a problem that plugins manufacturers think only on Adobe :-(

Thanks!
