PSP X3 Ultimate. Organizer v Thumbnails

Post by caspia1 »

Frustration!
I select an image and place it in the organizer.
I click on Thumbnails to find other images to match it as I have many options. I need to be able to see them as big as possible, so in the section I can only see four or five without scrolling.
Problem is, when I scroll, the image in the organizer disappears.
As I have to find several images from the thumbnails I have to load each one in turn into the organizer whether I will ultimately use it or not.
Is it not possible to be able to view simultaneously?
Does X4 overcome this problem?
Welcome advice please!

Not sure what you mean do you have your folders on the left..

I have both X3 and and X4
X3 has by far the better organizer/ thumbnail mode..
Cheers

OK. I have an image I want to edit/modify by adding bits from other images.
I select the main image and put it up in the organizer.
I would then like to be able to see all my thumbnails (which I have to max size to see best detail) in my preview panel which i have at the bottom of the page. However, when I scroll the thumbnails left to right the image i have in the organizer disappears immediately I click to scroll.
This means that I have to load ALL the thumbnails (of interest) one by one into the organizer.
Why does the organizer image disappear when I begin the thumbnail scroll?

Hope this is clearer! Perhaps there´s a better way round that I need to know about?

It almost sounds to me like you are trying to use the Organizer in PSP and expect it to function like the Project Bin in PS Elements. If so, it doesn't work that way.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Clearly not. Perhaps I am not utilizing X3 in the proper fashion. Thank you for your comments and will to understand my predicament.

@caspia1

The PSP X3 Organizer has 2 view mode the PREVIEW MODE and the THUMBNAIL MODE. You may want to explore both modes to see which one works for you. Also you may want adjust the ZOOM settings to change the size of the thumbnail images on the Organizer of PSP X3. About PSP X4, all I can say is to try and download the trial to see if it has a better organizer than the PSP X3, you can directly download the trial here.

I think it is impossible for it to work the way I would like it. In fact I have read other forums relating to it and others have the same issue. So, forgotten!
In respect of the trial for X4 I did try it a while back before being aware of this matter. Unfortunately I cannot download another trial because the system won´t let me. n any event I had huge difficulties un-installing it, so I really don´t want to go that route again. It kept locking and freezing up my computer. I needed lots of advice as to how to delete bits which were embedded in the Registry, etc.

When X5 comes out I may try again......
Thank you all the same.
