When loading the clips into Videostudio from my JVC GZ-HD6AG camcorder I have problems to get them in right order.
I want them in date and time order but it seems as VS insert the clips sorted on file name of the clips?
When loading the clips from the camcorder via USB I get all clips into the computer as separate files with correct time (date, hour, sec). I try to sort the files before inserting them to VS but with no luck when inserting.
I am using "Insert Media File to Timeline/ Insert Video" as well as "Insert Digital Media".
Any ideas how to get the clips in correct order?

Re: Order of inserted clips
Have you used another program to transfer -- and name -- the files from the camera? I ask because Video Studio's in-built capture and naming method is in fact based on date and time. Thus a file's name 20101015_072921.m2ts given by VS means a time of 7:29:21 on 15 October 2010. (I confess, however, that it has now been so long since I have used VS to capture that I can no longer recall if this is the original date and time of filming or the date and time of capture... I think it is the former, but someone else would have to confirm...)

Hi
Using Windows Explorer, sort the files into order.
Select the files, then drag the first file, along with the rest to the timeline.

Re: Order of inserted clips
Hi Ken and thanks for your attention,
Yes I am using the program that comes with the camera, PowerCinema NE for Everio.
I also suspect that it has to to with that program and am trying to find out how to control the capture in date/time-order.

Re: Order of inserted clips
Thanks for your help!
I also found that I could load the files direct from the harddisc in my camcorder using "Insert Digital Media"in Videostudio, which gave me the clips in correct order. That means I do not need to use any special loading program which also saves time..
So, my problem is solved, thank you!
