Chapters
I can make chapters in Video Studio Pro X2 without a problem, but does the software allow a return to the beginning automatically after playing a particular chapter? At the moment it only does that when the project has reached the end. I just want to know that at the end of a chapter I will be back onto the chapter menu so that I can choose a new one to play

Re: Chapters
AFAIK, VS will only allow you to choose a chapter initially, but then it will play all subsequent chapters until you reach the end of that particular clip ('title'). Then it can be set to either return to the menu at that point, or else play all subsequent clips.

With VS X2 I was able to have every chapter, after playing, return to the menu. If I am not mistekn there is a selection saying something like "return to menu after each chapter".
I just burned a 4-chapter project to "DVD folder" with VS X4). After "burning" the menu appeared with the 4 chapters. When U clicked the 1st chapter it plaed and when it finished playing instead of it retuning to the menu, it continued to play the 2nd chapter, etc.
How could you have each chapter to return to the menu in VS X4 after playing? Is it possible that I have to select Auto fade out first play to menu ? in the Navigation Controls menu (cogwheel in left bottom corner?
I do not quite understand what the 3 available selections mean. I checked the manual but it does not explain them.
The default is "Auto repeat when disc playback ends", this was checked in my case.
I would appreciate your advise.
Thank you .

Re: Chapters
Hi Ken,
I just found it. With the default "Auto repeat when disk playback ends" checked, the "Clip playback" is darkened. That's why I did not see it. When I unchecked this and then checked "Auto fade out first play to menu" the "Clip playback" did light up and upon clicking its menu there is the "Back to Menu" selection. Thanks.

Re: Chapters
What are you calling a chapter? You say you have a "4 chapter project". Do you mean your project has one movie (or Title) and you have sub-divided that Title into 4 chapters?
Or do you have 4 movies (Titles) in your project? In this case what you are calling "chapters" are actually referred to as Titles.

Re: Chapters
Hi
I believe canuck is correct………..There does seem to be some confusion regarding Titles and Chapters.
For each clip/video you add to the burner module (First Window) a Title is created, this is represented by a link on the Main Menu page. This is a Title Menu not a Chapter.
The Navigation Controls are used to set the menu’s reaction to the remote control…… Return to Menu etc.
The Navigation Controls only affect the Titles.
From the first page we can also assign chapter points, these can be applied to each Title, each title will then have a Sub Menu applied aka Chapter Menu.
The chapter menu’s can be edited in the same way as Title menu, it is accessed via a link below the preview screen, a little greyed out so hard to see, named Display Current menu, or something like that..
I have to admit in not using Chapters but prefer your method of adding individual video.

To Canuck and Trevor:
Thank you for the explanation and correction. You are right I should have called them Titles. What it is is the following. A travel that went to 4 cities. I created a video file that I called Part 1. This Part showed the sights and activities in City A. Then Part 2 for activities in City B, etc. Each Part is a self standing project. Thus on the Menu I have 4 thumbnails.
As I described after my first posting, I have found how after playing each Title, it returns to the Menu. That is after I kept looking in Create Disk. The "Back to Menu" was dimmed and I did not see it, because the setting was the VS default (Auto repeat when disc playback ends). When I unselected this default setting and then selected "Auto fade out first play to menu" the Clip Playback menu was lighted and I could make the required selection "Back to Menu"
