Batch Resizing of Images

Post by GJim »

After cropping, I want to be able to batch resize several images - but holding one of the dimensions (in pixels) to a particular number, allowing the other dimension to fall where it may. The batch resize seems to do a 'best-fit', based on the first image selected in the batch, which sometimes creates images that are slightly larger or smaller (in the particular dimension) than I desire. I've tried entering a 'wild-card' (*) in one of the dimensions, but PI won't accept that as an entry. Any ideas on how to how to accomplish this within the batch processing?

Once you've selected your images and the adjust size screen comes up, change the size to pixels and set the height. The width will self-adjust. If you changed the height to say 200 pixels, all your images would come out 200 pixels high and the width would be variable if the the images were not all the same size.

I forgot to add - if the image is already smaller than the specified height, it won't make any change to the height. In other words, it won't make it larger.

Thanks for the reply, MaryLou.

Actually, it is the width that I want to keep constant - and let the height fall where it may. I want the images to be 250 pixels wide. All the images would be much larger than this, prior to the batch resizing operation.
