Autosave in X4
Today my X4 crashed when I went to check temp files was nothing there..
I checked the autosave in preferences and the tick is for enable autosave in adjust..
where in adjust ..
In X2 if you have a crash all the temp files open..
am I missing something..Cheers

X4 has Manage - Adjust - Edit.
You need to click on Adjust.

I don't use Manage or Adjust, so was not aware what was going on, but I now see what you mean.Filly wrote:That doesn't work I can't understand why Corel has used Adjust as autosave,,

I clicked on Adjust, after saving my images (grrr) then File>Preferences>Autosave Settings. Then ticked the box for Autosave.
So far so good.
Went back to Edit and got the Improper Argument notification, so yes, that's not working.
It's a dumb system.

Re: Autosave in X4
Joelle -- how exactly did this Improper Argument message come up? I mean what did you do in Edit which caused it to appear. I ask because I think I followed what you did in Adjust, and then opened the saved image in Edit and made further adjustments, and saved those.Went back to Edit and got the Improper Argument notification

I had 3 images open in Edit, then clicked on Adjust.Ken Berry wrote:Joelle -- how exactly did this Improper Argument message come up? I mean what did you do in Edit which caused it to appear. Edit asked if I wanted to save the images, I said 'no'.
Adjust popped up, showing the first image in My Pictures.
I clicked on File>Preferences>Autosave Settings.
Then clicked the box to save Autosave the setting and clicked OK.
Then went back to Edit (I never use Manage or Adjust, was only trying it for Filly
Adjust went completely blank/black, then generated the Improper Argument message.
I closed the program and re-opened it.
I didn't save anything in Adjust.

Later edit:
Have just tried it again.
When in Adjust, then clicking on Edit, the Adjust settings disappear, everything is blank, see attached.

Re: Autosave in X4
I followed your steps. Had three images open in Edit (which I also use by default). Went to Adjust, and those three images closed. As I have said in at least one other thread, the image that opened in Adjust was not the first image in My Pictures, but the last image open in Adjust (and it was not one of the three previously open in Edit).
I went to File > Preferences > Autosave Settings. I ticked the box 'Enable Autosave in the Adjust Workspace' and clicked the OK button. Then I went to Edit. As at least I expected, Adjust closed and Edit opened with the image selected in the Adjust workspace. No error or improper argument message.
So once again, I don't think I can replicate the problem.

I don't know why it does that, but in my case it doesn't matter as I never use Adjust and was only trying to see if I could help Filly, when all this happened.
Without using Adjust, most things work ok

Re: Autosave in X4
Just a shot in the dark but I noticed both Filly and Joelle are on 64 bit systems and Ken is on 32 bit - maybe that's why.

Re: Autosave in X4
@Joelle - Like Ken I cannot recreate the problem... whenever I try to switch from EDIT to ADJUST or vice versa there's an image open... so no pop up message for me. You may need to reinstall the program.
@Filly - AFAIK when you enable the AUTOSAVE on ADJUST tab it will also be the same setting on EDIT and MANAGE.

Re: Autosave in X4
Guys my problem is with the autosave not doing waht it is supposed to do..
After a crash you should be able to get your work back through Temp files
as you could in X2 not sure about X3.. why have it..
AutoPreserve the folder is in your Documents
there are no work in there..
Here is the error from my Temp folder path..
