GRAPHICS CARD SELECTION ADVICE

Post by oka »

Just finished chatting with a Corel Tech Support team member about the 'right' workstation. With the better graphics card, he mentioned to go for a third-party card (ATI or Nvidia), anything in the $100 to $200 price range should do me good. What do you think.

I have decided I will be getting an i7 system. So, what graphics card would you recommend? About ninety-five percent of the videos I work on now are high definition format.

Thanks

I really cannot mention any specific products but any GPU that exceed the one listed on the system requirements is recommended.

Just incase.. here's the sys. req of VS X4 Ult.

Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista® or Windows® XP with latest service packs installed (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Intel® Core™ Duo 1.83 GHz, AMD Dual-Core 2.0 GHz or higher recommended
1 GB RAM (2 GB or higher recommended)
128 MB VGA VRAM or higher (256 MB or higher recommended)
3 GB of free hard drive space
Minimum display resolution: 1024 x 768
Windows-compatible sound card
Windows-compatible DVD-ROM drive for installation
Recordable Blu-ray™ drive required for creating Blu-ray™ discs
Internet connection required for online features and tutorial videos

But since you will get using a core i7 processor, then I would suggest that you try getting those graphics card that are usually used by hardcore gamer or in what they call gaming PC.
